ARC Fund, organized on behalf of ECAbit the 4th International Conference Advancing Innovation in Eastern Europe and Central Asia (AIECA 2009) The Technical University – Gabrovo, Enterprise Europe Network – Bulgaria and the Municipality of Gabrovo were co-organizers of the event, which was held on 24-26 September in Gabrovo, Bulgaria. AIECA 2009 was supported by the World Bank’s infoDev program and iDisc global incubator initiative.
» Fifth National Innovation Forum entitled Innovation Infrastructure and Policy for Economic Growth,
The Applied Research and Communications Fund, the EC Representation in Bulgaria, Enterprise Europe Network - Bulgaria, the Ministry of Economy and Energy, and the World Bank Mission in Bulgaria organized the Fifth National Innovation Forum entitled Innovation Infrastructure and policy for Economic Growth. The Forum was held at the Sheraton Balkan Hotel, under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Mr. Georgi Parvanov.
» Fifth National Contest for Innovative Enterprise of the Year 2008,
Applied Research and Communications Fund, Enterprise Europe Network – Bulgaria jointly with the Ministry of Economy and Energy, the World Bank office in Bulgaria and the kind support of the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency organize for the fifth time a National Contest for Innovative Enterprise of the Year 2008.
The Contest acknowledges Bulgarian enterprises that have successfully introduced innovations or scientific accomplishments, thus transforming their operation mode and achieving sustainable economic effect.
» Innovations: European, National and Regional Policies,
ARC Fund has released its latest publication on Innovations: European, National and Regional Policies. The book is a continuation of Innovation: Policy and Practice, which was published in 2004. It analyzes the innovation issues in Bulgaria, focusing on the practical aspects of innovation at firms' level and in the context of Bulgaria’s EU accession. The book was officially presented by ARC Fund on 15 July 2008 . Many foreign authors participated in the elaboration of the book, as well as Bulgarian authors from universities, the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, NGOs and industrial associations. The book reviews the globalization process, modern models for knowledge and technology transfer, partnerships between science, business and Governments.

ARC Fund organized the fourth annual National Innovation Forum in Sofia on February 7th, 2008. The Forum has become ARC Fund’s major public event which brings together top-level politicians, academics and business leaders to discuss Bulgaria's innovation policy and the level of innovation in the economy.
» Urban Youth Fest for Safer Internet in Sofia,
Several official institutions and non-governmental organizations, ARC Fund among the others, joined efforts in organizing a summer event for children and teenagers under the Safer Internet campaign of the Bulgarian Hotline against illegal and harmful content in Internet, operated by ARC Fund. The event was opened by the Deputy Prime-minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Ivaylo Kalfin, the Chairman of the State Agency for Information Technology and Communications Mr. Plamen Vachkov and the Deputy-Chairman of the State Agency for Youth and Sports Mr. Mihail Balabanov.
» ARC Fund Awarded Best National Performer in FP6,
ARC Fund has received a Crystal Prize for its outstanding performance in the Sixth Framework Programme of the EU for Research and Technological Development. ARC Fund was awarded the most successful Bulgarian non-governmental organizations participating in FP6 by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education and Science of Bulgaria, Mr. Daniel Vulchev. The award was presented to ARC Fund’s Executive Director, Mr. Nikolay Badinski, during a two-day conference dedicated to the start of the new Seventh Framework Programme, which took place in Sofia on January 31st - February 1st, 2007.

The 3rd National Innovation Forum took place in Sofia (Sheraton Hotel Balkan) on December 19th, 2006. The 3rd NIF sought to review and analyze the latest developments in Bulgaria’s innovation environment with a view to the upcoming EU accession. The Forum aimed to present the major opportunities and challenges to the innovation performance of Bulgaria’s economy as part of the EU market and propose a dynamic platform for exchange of opinions and good practices at EU, national, regional, sectoral and company levels which will enhance Bulgaria’s innovativeness and competitiveness.
» ARC Fund Released its e-Bulgaria 2006 Report,
ARC Fund has released its latest e-Bulgaria 2006 Report which analyzes the progress in ICT infrastructure deployment in the country, as well as the penetration and use of internet and ICT-related services in Bulgarian households, enterprises, schools, universities and government institutions over this year. The report presents a wealth of empirical and qualitative data, synthetic indicators, trend analysis and projections, policy options and recommendations for the future development of information society in the country.
» Bulgarian Internet Community Meets Google Vice President and Chief Internet Evangelist Dr. Vint Cerf,
On July 5th ARC Fund hosted a meeting with Dr. Vint Cerf, Vice President and chief Internet evangelist for Google, and Ms. Esther Dyson, author of the book Release 2.0. The event was organized as part of the program of a high-level international delegation of IT experts visiting Bulgaria, who met key players in the country's Internet and ICT community.
