ARC Fund Internship Programme 2012

The Applied Research and Communications Fund (ARC Fund) is seekingexceptional university students who wish to gain experience in addressing the challenges in the promotion of the knowledge economy in Bulgaria and Europe. ARC Fund is the premier Bulgarian innovation policy and research institute which aims to facilitate the transfer of new and advanced technologies and knowledge. It does this through research and analysis in support of public policy development and the use and formulation of innovative policy development tools. ARC Fund promotes consensus building among policy stakeholders as well as undertakes the implementation of projects demonstrating the value of various technologies, increasing democratic governance and improving the competitiveness of businesses.

ARC Fund encourages interested applicants from a variety of academic and professional interests to apply, particularly those with a background or interest in the social sciences (i.e. economics, political science and sociology). For more information about what we do, please visit our website.

Requirements:

• excellent university credentials
• fluency in English (second major EU language will be considered an advantage)
• computer literacy (spreadsheets, presentations)
• very good written and analytical skills
• organizational skills
• ability to quickly and efficiently perform searches in databases and in the Internet
• ability to work under pressure

Responsibilities:

• assist project preparation
• assist project implementation
• assist the day-to-day work of the organization

Interns are expected to be well organized and able to adapt to a varying workload. They should have a strong desire to learn, a sense of responsibility as well as adaptability and flexibility, team work, initiative and enthusiasm.

ARC Fund offers limited two, three and six months’ half-day internships. Interns must devote approximately 20 hours per week. ARC Fund offers work at flexible hours.
