Blagovesta Chonkova has been working as a project officer at ARC Fund since April 2012. Her work is focusing on various topics related to innovation, most recently innovation in the public sector, social innovation and innovation for sustainable development. She is mainly involved in the preparation and coordination phase of EU-funded projects, such as Parliaments and Civil Society in Technology Assessment (PACITA) and Complex Challenges, Innovative Cities (CCIC).
Before ARC Fund, Blagovesta Chonkova gained international experience, working at the German Bundestag, the Council of the European Union and UNHCR. She has also assisted in various research projects in the field of public policy, mainly related to fiscal decentralisation, migration and poverty alleviation.
Blagovesta Chonkova has bachelor’s degrees in Economics and European Studies from American University in Bulgaria. In 2011, she earned a master’s degree in Public Policy from Central European University, Budapest. In 2013, Ms. Chonkova earned her second master’s degree, specialising in finance. She speaks fluently English and German.
